Uranus takes about 84 Earth years to circle the Sun

Uranus’s year stretches across roughly 84 Earth years — so a child born as the ice giant finishes one lap would be elderly before the next perihelion season returns.

Kepler’s laws make distant orbits crawl: at nearly 19 AU, the Sun’s pull is weak and the path is long. Voyager’s brief 1986 visit sampled only a snapshot of that slow calendar.

Orbital period is a planetary clock. Uranus shows how far-out worlds compress human history into a fraction of one year.
