A Martian sol — one full spin relative to the Sun — runs about 24 hours and 39 minutes, so a day on Mars feels almost Earth-like with a little overtime.
That near match is why mission clocks and crew schedules can track sols instead of fighting a totally alien rhythm. Dusty sunsets still take a familiar length of twilight.
Close days hide a distant world. Mars is cold and thin-aired, but its clock is a neighbor you could almost wear on your wrist.
