Puck is the largest of Uranus’s small inner moons

Puck is the largest of Uranus’s small inner moons

Puck stretches about 160 kilometers across — modest next to Titania, yet the heavyweight among Uranus’s tightly packed inner moons discovered around the Voyager era.

Its dark, cratered surface and near-equatorial orbit place it in the crowded zone where rings and shepherd moons interact. Voyager’s brief look remains the best close portrait.

Inner moons scrub dynamical space. Puck shows Uranus keeps a mini-system of dark worlds between the rings and the big five icy satellites.
