Victoria Falls on the Zambezi between Zambia and Zimbabwe spans more than 1.7 kilometers — often called the largest curtain of falling water by width, even though taller single plunges exist elsewhere.
Spray rises as a permanent mist cloud; the local name Mosi-oa-Tunya means “the smoke that thunders.”
