In coastal fog deserts, certain darkling beetles face into the mist with their backs tilted up so tiny droplets condense and run down to their mouths.

The behavior turns scarce atmospheric moisture into drinking water without waiting for rain that may not come for months.

Posture is a water well. Fog-basking beetles prove arid wildlife habitats invent tools from body angles alone.
